Life is funny sometimes
July 17, 2011The human brain can be a strange thing at times because you go to the kitchen and you don’t know why!!! Sometimes I find myself in the kitchen, curled up on the floor and there is water coming out of my eyes and my cat is drinking it :(
I have like 3 ideas for other comics at the moment which is a record for me!!!! I will draw another one soon! In the meantime you can entertain yourself with everything else that has ever been put on the internet.
Remember to eat plenty of fibre!! Keeps you regular!!!!

That’s not how diabetes works…this gross inaccuracy made the joke unfunny.
People with diabetes are very awake when hyperglycemic (and thus need insulin to lower their blood sugar level), it mostly makes them feel thirsty and stressed and such a state kinda destroys the body (they lose sense of touch, go blind, etc, but this is still a slow process).
Only when hypoglycemic (low blood sugar level), they can become comatose and dying is a slow process still as the body slowly shuts down due to the lack of carbohydrates for energy (which can lead to brain damage eventually, but it is first stressful on the heart and muscle tissues as sugars are pulled out of them, kind of looking like epileptic shock). Insulin in such a situation would be VERY BAD. In such a case they need SUGAR. So doctors mostly inject a solution of sugar in the bloodstream (if you’d call the hospital, which is very advisable). Or you’d have something called ‘glucagen’ lying around (or by another name), which is a hormone that triggers the liver to release sugars (which it has a limited supply of so it doesn’t always work). And that’s not kept in the fridge.
